Allow audio file uploads

I would really appreciate it if you could embed an audio file directly into the gamma instead of having to link an URL or a google drive folder or do some other weird workaround just to have an audio file in the gamma.

Danke!

Hey Christian Kogler, thanks for the clear request. Directly embedding uploaded audio with an in-page play button makes a ton of sense, I’ll pass this along to the team.
Quick couple questions so we nail the use case:
1) What audio formats are you hoping to embed (mp3, wav, m4a, etc)?
2) Do you want the audio to play inline on the page, or is it fine if it opens a separate player/view when someone clicks play?

Nik Payne (Gamma design)Hi Nick, MP 3 would be perfectly fine, I suppose, playing inline on the page would be the most convinient, but if that's hard to achive a player opening would still be better than forcing everybody to other platforms just for listening in. So just clicking "play" would be perfect! Just a question - what could be a time frame? Because I need to decide if I need to find an interim solution! Thank you for caring!

Sharing a URL of the MP3 creates a full 100% iframe which is not a feasible way to present a single audio file on a Gamma Website. Uploading the file directly would be a good option or creating a custom audio player that is discrete, so users can simply press a play button. The embedded Soundcloud and other options take up to much space, require artwork, and include their brand name. Something organic and simple in Gamma websites would be very helpful.

Audio file intégration

Hello Gamma team,
I’d like to suggest a feature that would be extremely useful for teachers using Gamma in the classroom.
It would be great to have the possibility to embed short audio files (MP3) directly into a presentation, with a simple play button, instead of having to insert an external link (like Google Drive or Dropbox).
As a teacher, I often need to add short audio clips (2–3 minutes) for listening activities or dialogues, and it would be much easier if students could listen directly from the slide with one click.
This feature would make Gamma even more powerful and seamless for educational use.
Thank you for considering this idea and for the amazing work you’re doing with Gamma.
Best regards,
Nik Payne (Gamma design)
Thanks David. I shared this in our feedback slack. If you want to grab time on my calendar would love to know a bit more about your use case! (and any other feedback you have)

Adding audio files

How do I add audio files to my pressentations? I thought there was a way to do this before your recent update.
Nik Payne (Gamma design)
Hi Penn International Tutoring. Direct upload isn't currently possible but you can embed audio files hosted on other platforms. I haven't tested google drive but that may be an option for you?

Please, please, please allow us to embed audio files into cards. This is really useful for teaching when we can add that functionality into our presentations.
Hilary (CX @ Gamma)
David Jacobson you can embed audio files. Simply type /embed to pull up the option, or you can drag and drop directly from the insert menu: https://help.gamma.app/en/articles/11016385-where-do-i-start-when-adding-content-in-gamma
