Any word on when Gamma will be fully accessible to those with disabilities?

I like the idea, but this is still inaccessible for people with low literacy.

As a teacher for special needs students this does not allow you to request edits or alter the text to make it accessible for ESL students or for those with language deprivation or low cognition. I still needed to heavily modify the text on each slide. Adding this feature would allow all types of teachers to create resources for their stdudents.

Hey Joanne,
I don't have a ton of context on what accessibility means in this context. Could you give examples of the kinds of modifications you're making or the problems we could solve on our end?

PDF Tags for Accessibility
David Williamson, PhD
My university will soon require accessibility in PDF slide exports, specifically tagging. The Canvas Accessibility score is now 5%. Here is its feedback:
Why use tagged PDFs
Essential for students with visual impairments
Tagged PDF files enable screen readers to determine a logical order and structure. Without tags, PDF files are just a bag of unstructured words.
Easier navigation
The structural information in a tagged PDF allows for automatic generation of a table of contents. This facilitates navigation for all students, especially for long documents.
Adapts to screen size
A tagged PDF will reflow the content to best fit your device. Without tags, students will be required to do more zooming and scrolling.

hi David Williamson, PhD thanks for the feedback. Super helpful
One note: currently gammas are mobile responsive, and will reflow to fit the screen size, especially if you use the 'fluid' height setting in page setup

Presentation & Website Accessibility
Anette Smith
Accessibility is critical these days. it would be great if the Gamma tool could either build presenations and website that are accessible according to the US Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) or the EU European Accessibility Act (EAA).

Thanks Annette

I have the same question. I also have to drop my presentation into PowerPoint to run the accessibility checker. Same issue applies with the websites.

I need Accessible Presentations

Estel Lita Russo
I enjoy using Gamma! Its design features, color options, and content generation tools are fantastic. However, since my organization requires all presentations to be accessible, I find myself having to redo many elements in PowerPoint to meet accessibility standards. Because of that extra work, it’s hard to justify using Gamma for now, even though I love the creative experience it offers.

Hi Estel Lita Russo, can you help me understand what you're doing in PPT to make your presentation accessible? or where the gaps are

We also need our site to be accessible. having alt text was the most basic metric we wanted to check on, and found that Gamma is lacking still in that department as of Jun 20th of 2025

Accessibility for those with disability
Stefan Youngblood
One of our members, involved in the accessibility for all space, found that, as a blind person, and Activist in that space, gamma could add more accessibility for those with disabilities. Her name is Tiffani Martin and her work is touching a national scale.
