Fixed-Canvas Mode for Absolute Positioning, Object Layering, and Strict Corporate Templates
Дмитро Чекалюк
Currently, Gamma's responsive, block-based card system makes it impossible to adhere to strict corporate brand guidelines. While the fluid layout is excellent for quick content generation, enterprise users require absolute control over presentation aesthetics to match their company standards.
The main problem we encounter is the inability to use free-form placement. We cannot place objects in arbitrary positions or overlap them, such as putting custom corporate vectors directly over images or text boxes. Furthermore, the AI dynamically adjusts layouts, meaning we cannot lock in a strict master slide template to ensure consistent background assets and proportions across all generated pages.
To solve this, we propose adding a toggle for a Fixed-Canvas Mode alongside the current fluid layout. This mode would allow for absolute, pixel-perfect positioning of elements, object stacking with z-axis control, and the ability to define and lock unchangeable master slides.
Implementing this feature would make Gamma a viable and powerful tool for corporate and enterprise teams who must strictly comply with established brand books and marketing layouts. Thank you for considering this enhancement for your roadmap.

Дмитро Чекалюк thanks for the super clear writeup, this is really helpful. I’m going to pass this to the team.
Quick couple questions so we scope it right:
1) When you say “fixed canvas”, are you thinking true slide-sized pixels (like 16:9 at a set resolution), or just “don’t reflow anything once placed”?
2) What’s the minimum set you’d need for enterprise templates: locked master backgrounds only, or also locked element positions, fonts, spacing, and z-order rules across every page?
If you have an example brand template (even a screenshot from PPT/Figma) that you’re trying to match, that’d help a ton too.

Nik Payne (Gamma design) Hi team, thank you for the quick follow-up and for passing this along to the developers. We really appreciate your attention to this matter.
Regarding the fixed canvas, we are definitely looking for true slide-sized proportions, such as a standard 16:9 format at a set resolution. While preventing elements from reflowing is a good start, a true fixed canvas ensures that our presentations look exactly as intended on any standard display and export flawlessly to PDF or PowerPoint without unexpected cropping or shifting.
As for the minimum requirements for enterprise templates, locked master backgrounds are essential, but we truly need the full suite of controls to make this viable for our team. This includes strictly locked element positions, enforced typography, exact spacing, and specific z-order rules for layering across every page. Without these strict constraints, the AI inevitably introduces slight variations that violate our corporate brand guidelines.
I have attached a few examples from our corporate templates to illustrate this. You can clearly see how we use specific layering, such as custom vector graphics overlapping photos, and exact text placement that the current fluid layout simply cannot replicate.
Please let me know if you need any more details to help scope this feature.
