From Community: Request for Default Embed Setting in StreamAlive Summary: User suggests changing default link display to embed for StreamAlive interactions in Gamma slides.

I run a lot of embeds in my Gammas- where I add StreamAlive interactions. I just discovered that I could simply paste the StreamAlive interaction URL in a slide and it automatically shows up.
The only issue is it takes the default link display option, which is preview. I would like it to do embed by default. Not a major issue but right now each time I do an embed I need to go change it from preview to embed. If the default was embed or if it remembered my last setting, that would be great. Thanks.

Hey Lux Narayan, thanks for the super clear writeup. Totally get how that “flip preview to embed every time” gets old fast, I’ll pass this request to the team.
Quick question so we can scope it right: would you want this to be a global default for all links, or only for StreamAlive (or specific domains) so other links still default to preview?

Nik Payne (Gamma design) thanks for that lightning-fast reply.
My preferences would be:
- Remember what option I chose last time around and use that as a new default. IMHO, users have a preference that they keep reverting to between links, previews, embeds, and buttons, exactly like one does on other platforms like Notion as well - have a default preference for how external links are treated (eg. Bookmark is my default option in Notion).
Interestingly, Notion does this in a different way. Any time you put an external URL, it auto-opens the menu of how you might want to show it. - For StreamAlive, if possible, please make it embed by default for all users because that's the only way it works inside Gamma.
While on the subject of StreamAlive's embeds, would it be possible to allow for any subdomain.streamalive.com? Right now, it's only for app.streamalive.com and as a result, we are able to test things for Gamma only after we push to production.
We would like the ability to test features when they are in our QA and user acceptance testing servers as well, which are qa.streamalive.com and uat.streamalive.com - so even if you whitelist just these two subdomains (besides App.StreamAlive.com of course), that should be good.
