Hyperlinks need to open new tabs in published sites -- huge blocker for my team.
Molly Trerotola
Hey Gamma team --
My company is a PRO customer and really loves your product. We're continuing to run into issues when trying to turn our gammas into a live website: when we do that, links within the content don't open new pages. The only time hyperlinks open in new tabs is in deck format.
This has become a major blocker for us sharing our gammas externally. Are there any plans to update this bug?
Thank you,
Molly

Nik Payne (Gamma design) Hey! Thanks for your quick response.
- I'm finding that it's in the web page view (not deck). When I convert it to a deck, the links open in new tabs, but not with the website version of the content.
- A toggle is ideal, but "open in new tab" by default is also great! Having the option is what's key.
Many of our gammas are sites we want to share with prospects/existing customers, with links to other content such as forms, case studies, videos, and more. This is critical for us so the audience can easily navigate the content.
Thanks again,
Molly

Molly Trerotola Thanks again. I'll do my best to raise the flag on this. We're a bit swamped rn. I'll try investigate

Hey Molly, really appreciate the detailed writeup and the context here, and sorry this is blocking your team. I’ll pass this along to the team.
Quick couple questions so we can pin it down:
1) When you say “published sites,” is that the published web page view (not deck), and does it happen for all links or only certain ones (external URLs, email links, anchors)?
2) What’s the behavior you want by default for published sites: always open in a new tab, or a per-link toggle like “open in new tab”?
If you can share a sample published URL (or a screenshot showing the link + what happens when clicked), that’d help a ton.

Nik Payne (Gamma design) -- our site links are PW-gated for prospects and partners so I don't feel comfortable sharing in this forum, but I'm happy to email you!
