Reusable, custom gamma templates for my workspace
in progress
Vanessa Molter
Hi Nik, not sure how to best share feedback on your prototype - one thing for me is that I'd still want to be able to paste text for automatic formatting, as is possible with the "Generate from AI" workflow.
I would like to add Markdown text to a template. Meaning I only have to paste the text and it is automatically formatted in a way that adheres to the template.

Vanessa Molter:
So if I understand you correctly: you'd like to be able to use a custom template WITH the paste in flow?
So you would paste in your text, say preserve/condense etc, and specify the template you want to use. It would use that template's layouts while generating

Vanessa Molter: Thanks for providing feedback btw 🙌

Apologies everyone, there was an issue with my last prototype link.
This link should work great:
ℹ️ Note: it's not working software, so not everything is clickable
👉 Things you can try:
- Turn a gamma into a prototype
- "Edit" that template
- Click "New gamma" from the Gammas tab to use the template
- Set your preferred blank gamma
❓ Feedback I'd love from you
- Is anything unclear or missing?
- Does this match how you expect workspace templates to work?
- How could we make this even better
- How important is a publishing workflow for templates? Is live updating okay?
or whatever else you want to share!

It would be nice to be able to add our own template for a presentation

Proposal to Introduce Customizable Templates with Pre-Defined Designs
JOY
Dear Gamma Support Team,
In addition to my previous suggestions, I would like to propose another feature that could further enhance your platform's capabilities. I recommend the implementation of customizable templates that come with pre-defined designs, such as page layouts and existing graphic elements. These templates would allow users to quickly select and apply professional designs, significantly simplifying the process of creating visually appealing and well-structured documents.
Providing a variety of templates tailored for different document types—such as reports, presentations, or newsletters—would enable users to maintain consistency in their documents while saving time on formatting. This feature would be particularly useful for those who require efficient document processing but may not have advanced design skills.
Thank you once again for considering my proposals. I am excited about the potential improvements these features could bring to your platform and am eager to discuss them further.
Best regards, Joy

when creating these templates it would be great if we could somehow add a section to each slide where we can pull in a video stream. I have attached my old powerpoint presentation template where I had a red circle in the upper left as a place holder on each slide so that when I pull my camera feed in when presenting it doesnt cover any of the slides

Yes we can duplicate Gamma docs already built, but we would like Templates to have a section which we can create - ex. Performance Reviews, Annual Review, Client Overview, Pricing Proposal, etc. which we can easily templatize and customize from there.

Our design team is literally in a meeting discussing how to bring this to life right now (:
