From Community: Suggestion to Adjust Chart Max Values
CJ Bruce
It would be cool to set the “Max” value for these circle, bar and dot charts. It defaults to 100 which makes sense for a % breakdown but in this example 62 is the max value so it would be nice to show all of these numbers relative to that max value.

Charts bugs and issues
Luke Belto
Chart colourings never work properly, will put several as the same colour.
Should allow custom series editing too.
Also some kind of process early on to share a CSV or data within text prompts to better pre-populate the visualisations you'd want.

Thanks for the feedback Luke Belto! Shared with our editor team

when uploading data, cannot specify the X and Y axes
Leyi Hu
When I upload data and plot a line chart by myself, the system automatically treats my intended X and Y axis data as two independent data series, and I am unable to specify which data is for the axis.

Add Currency format so can display results in charts formatted as GBP £
James Aston
Currently we are importing data into Gamma as a pdf with currency data formatted as GBP £. However, when Gamma creates a deck using this data all currency values are formatted as US dollar $. For clients based in the UK this makes the deck useless and we will have to find another AI auto deck generator if this can't be fixed. We require an option to format the charts as GBP £, and ideally for Gamma to pick up the currency format automatically from the underlying data and present data in charts using that format so we don't have to manually override.
Tim Scanlin
Hmm, we should support "GBP £" in our charts, maybe the import didn't pick it up properly though. If you try manually changing the symbol in front on the value does that work?
James Aston
Hey, thanks for your reply Tim. The data is formatted as £ in the imported pdf but appears as $ in the charts. If I go "Edit Chart data" there is no option to change currency from $ to £. Is there any way to get the import to pick up £ format properly?
James Aston
Tim Scanlin - Do you have any update on this? Any ideas why the import wldnt pick up the £ format correctly? Are there any plans to implement a fix for this? When wld that be released?
Tim Scanlin
James Aston It looks like there is a bug in the import logic causing the format to not be picked up correctly. Fixing this bug is not trivial because we will also need to make sure to handle ALL other currencies we support too. There are plans to work on a fix for this but it might take a couple weeks for us to nail down a solution and get it released. In the meantime is updating the symbol manually not working for you? Or are you able to work around this?
James Aston
Tim Scanlin thanks for getting back to me. Please keep us updated on the progress of this fix. How do we update the symbol manually? If I go to "Edit Chart Data" I can format as numeric which removes the currency symbol - is this what you mean?
Tim Scanlin
James Aston here is a gif showing how to update the data manually. Hopefully it helps! You should just keep the currency formatting and just change the USD symbol at the front to the symbol for pound.
James Aston
Tim Scanlin Great! Thanks! I've got that working now. We can manually change the formatting of these values for now until the fix is released

Currency other than S

Right now the chart only uses very limited type especially with numbers / currency. Some of us are not based in the US :)

Single color bar charts, please!
Eleanor Semeraro
I've been trying to get the charts in my gammas to align with important branding/style guides, including approved colors - but there seems to be no way to make a bar chart use just one single color. I've tried adding just the primary color to the gamma's set theme, and tried adding the desired color to all the secondary color options (as suggested by your AI agent :) but it insists on doing gradient colors or contrasting colors...my client needs charts that just use one single color. Please help!!

Hi Eleanor Semeraro, can you tell me more about what kind of colors you'd like to see? Are you thinking of a single color with tints and shades similar to a monochrome palette? The team is currently working on this, so I would love to share some of the new color options we're thinking of as well!
Eleanor Semeraro
Michelle Tran (Design @ Gamma) Hi, thanks for the super quick response! Basically just having an option to make bar/column charts a single color, instead of forcing at least 2+ colors, would be great. Attaching an example we previously made in Infogram before we started migrating work to Gamma - all the columns are the same color green. We are loving so much about Gamma and everything it can do that's super dynamic/visually captivating but sometimes super simple is needed :)

Eleanor Semeraro this example is so helpful, thank you! I've let the team know to include the ability to select single colors for the upcoming improvements.
