Template design rules do not follow through to copies

When using our templates, design elements are dropping off from their copies.
E.g. I have a line graph in a template that has:
- Enabled headline number (metric = last, compare = previous)
- Enabled annotation = average
- Alignment set to middle
When I then go to use the copy, all of this has been erased and I have to re-add/format.
Defeats the purpose of a template.

Thanks for the super clear writeup, and yeah that would totally defeat the point of templates. I’ll pass this to the team.
Quick couple questions so we can pin it down:
1) Does this happen every time you create a new doc from the template, or only sometimes?
2) Is it only the line graph block losing settings (headline number, avg annotation, alignment), or do other blocks/styles drop too? If you can share a screenshot of the template vs the copy (or the template link), that’d help a ton.
