Title and export issues / problems with gammas
Fanis Charalampous
There's a significant user experience inconsistency where the exported file name doesn't match the presentation title visible in the editor. When users rename their presentation in Gamma, the export still downloads with the old filename based on page metadata rather than the updated title they see.
User Impact:
Professional embarrassment: Users unknowingly share files with outdated/incorrect names
Workflow disruption: Forces manual file renaming after every export
Brand exposure risk: Incorrect filenames can expose sensitive information or create confusion
Trust erosion: Users expect the visible title to match the export name
Expected Behavior:
The export filename should automatically sync with the presentation title shown in the editor, providing a seamless user experience.
Current Workaround:
Users must manually update both the editor title AND the page settings metadata separately, which is unintuitive and error-prone.
This affects all users and creates unnecessary friction in a core workflow.

Bug: Incorrect PDF filename on export of duplicated files.

Hi Gamma Team,
I'm reaching out regarding a technical issue I've encountered with PDF exports.
I have a master template that I use for my work. To create new documents, I duplicate this template and then rename the new file. However, there is currently a bug: when I export these renamed files to PDF, they all save with the original template's name instead of their own unique titles.
Even though each project has a different name in my dashboard, the exported PDF always reverts to the name of the source template. This makes managing multiple files very difficult as I have to rename each PDF manually after downloading.
Could you please look into this? It would be great to have the PDF filenames match the document titles again.

Page name no longer syncs with document title

Hi Gamma team,
Since the recent Pages feature update, renaming a document no longer updates the Page name in the Pages panel — they've become two separate fields that need to be updated independently.
Previously, renaming the document would update everything consistently. Now it's easy to end up with mismatched names across the document title, the Pages panel, the export dialog, and the dashboard thumbnail — which is confusing, especially when sharing or exporting.
Could you either sync the two fields automatically, or at minimum make it clearer that they're separate? It's a small thing but causes real confusion in practice.
Thanks for considering it.

Problemas no Tílulo nas apresentações
Sandra Vaz

Hey Fanis Charalampous, thanks for the super clear writeup. Totally get how an export coming down with an old name can be embarrassing and a real workflow tax. I’m going to pass this to the team.
Quick couple questions so we can pin it down:
1) What export type(s) are you seeing this on (PDF, PPTX, etc)?
2) After you rename the presentation title in the editor, where exactly is the “page settings metadata” title you’re updating to make it match, and does the mismatch happen every time or only on older files?
If you’ve got a quick screen recording or screenshot of the two titles side by side, that’d help a ton (but no worries if not).

Hello Nik Payne (Gamma design), I use only the PDF export type, and I update my Gamma presentation on a weekly basis. That said, I only use an old gamma every time, which I update weekly, changing the title every time. But the PDF export is still keeping the old title! Now I am obliged to change the title manually, clicking the three dots and then "settings - "page settings". Hope that helps! Thank you

Can you clarify what you mean? I didn't see any equations in the titles of the cards in your gamma
Sandra Vaz
Nik Payne (Gamma design) exactly. In de the first slide is in portuguese”espaço $\mathbb{R}^n$ and it doesn’t appear. Is the same thing in the orger slides. Its true that without $…$ if we put just R^n in appears. But that’s not the correct way. Best regards

Hey James Jones, thanks for the super clear writeup. Totally get how having the doc title, Pages panel name, export name, and dashboard thumbnail drift apart would get confusing fast, especially when sharing.
I’ll pass this to the team. Quick clarifier so we capture the right fix: do you want the Page name to always mirror the document title (one source of truth), or do you sometimes want them separate and just want a clearer UI cue when they’re decoupled?

Hey Travel Agent, thanks for the super clear writeup, that’s really helpful. I’ll pass this along to the team. Quick couple questions so we can reproduce it: 1) what browser + OS are you exporting from? 2) does it happen every time only for duplicated-then-renamed docs, or also for brand new docs created from scratch? If you can share one example doc title vs the exact PDF filename you get (or a screenshot), that’d be perfect.

I cut a bug ticket!
