Feedback / feature request I use Gamma with ChatGPT for professional legal / regulatory presentation workflows where content non-regression is critical. The current connector is useful for creating new Gamma files, but it does not support the most important workflow: importing an existing PPTX donor deck, turning it into a reusable Gamma template, and then asking ChatGPT to generate or update a specific slide while preserving locked content. Current limitations: ChatGPT can create a new Gamma, but cannot edit or update an existing Gamma by URL or ID. An imported PPTX cannot be converted into a Gamma template from ChatGPT. generate_from_template only works with existing Gamma templates, not regular Gammas or imported PPTX donor decks. The connector wording is confusing because users expect “from template” to work from an imported presentation. There is no strict preservation mode for regulated/legal decks: no rewrite, no deletion, no summarisation, no added claims. Speaker notes are not reliably preserved or controlled from ChatGPT. There is no slide-by-slide update workflow, e.g. “replace Slide 9 using this locked content and this exact visual style.” Requested features: * Add edit_gamma / update_gamma by Gamma URL or ID. * Add create_template_from_gamma and create_template_from_pptx . * Allow imported PPTX decks to become connector-usable templates. * Add a strict-copy mode: no rewrite, no deletion, no summarisation, preserve speaker notes. * Add slide-level operations: create, replace, update or restyle one specific slide. * Allow exact image/file injection from ChatGPT with “use this exact image, uncropped”. * Provide a non-regression report showing what was changed, removed or added. This would make Gamma much more useful for professional consulting, legal, regulatory and board-level decks where the visual layout needs AI assistance but the content must remain source-bound and auditable.

"Graphic" is the best option for generating meta and linkedin ads, much better than the "social" setting. The Gamma API does not allow it currently - please please please allow Graphic via API. Thanks!

The Gamma MCP currently only supports creating new documents and presentations via the generate tool. There's no way to amend, update, or edit an existing Gamma after it's been created — the available tools are limited to generate, read_gamma, get_folders, and get_themes. This means any change, no matter how small, requires either manually editing in the Gamma web editor or regenerating the entire document from scratch (which creates a new file, loses any manual tweaks, and clutters the workspace).lease add tools to the Gamma MCP that allow: Updating an existing Gamma by ID — amend specific cards/sections, update text, replace tables, change dates, etc. without creating a new file Appending cards to an existing document or deck Replacing individual cards in place, so manual formatting on other cards is preserved This would make Gamma genuinely usable as part of an iterative AI-assisted workflow, rather than a one-shot generator.

The get_folders tool is good, but Gamma should make it easy for the assistant to understand where content should go. For example: “Save this in the Bulletproof Automations folder.” “Use my client proposal workspace.” “Put this under 2026 / Sales Decks.” For business users, organization matters.

Because MCP is conversational, there is risk that an assistant could trigger credit usage before the user fully understands what is being generated. I would suggest a built-in confirmation mode: “This will generate a 12-card presentation and may use approximately X credits. Continue?” That would protect both Gamma and the user.

The get_folders tool is good, but Gamma should make it easy for the assistant to understand where content should go. For example: “Save this in the Bulletproof Automations folder.” “Use my client proposal workspace.” “Put this under 2026 / Sales Decks.” For business users, organization matters.

Right now the MCP tools are too few. I would suggest adding: get_generation_status get_gamma list_gammas export_gamma generate_from_template update_card regenerate_card duplicate_gamma delete_gamma

Template generation is useful, but it would be stronger if the API supported more advanced templates with multiple cards, required variables, repeatable sections, and locked brand areas. This would make Gamma much more useful for repeatable business documents like proposals, client reports, training decks, pitch decks, and internal updates. Builders could create branded templates once and then use the API to generate consistent outputs from structured data.

When using Gamma through the API, builders often need predictable deck structure, not just a good-looking result. It would help if the API allowed slide-level layout instructions, such as problem slide, comparison slide, three-step process, image-left/text-right, summary card, or call-to-action slide. This would make generated decks more consistent and useful for proposals, reports, training materials, and repeatable business workflows.

The current pending/completed/failed style of status is useful, but not detailed enough for a good automation experience. It would help if the API returned more specific status stages such as queued, generating outline, designing cards, generating images, exporting PPTX, completed, or failed. This would let builders show better progress updates to users instead of only saying the deck is still processing.
